New Executive Members and Chair Announced

At the last CUBO Executive we received the results of the recent CUBO nominations and elections for joining the group. I am please to confirm that we have the following new CUBO Executive Members:

In addition to the above changes Paddy Jackman is taking forward a new strategic theme on CUBO Communications. This replaces the "Promoting Excellence" Theme which after discussion at the Executive Group was decided that whilst CUBO will continue to promote excellence it can do this within each strategic theme rather than as a separate piece of work. The current strategy document is being amended to reflect this change and will be posted on the CUBO website shortly.

I would like to thank Dennis Hopper (Research), Roger Smith (Sustainability) and Emma Furnival (Knowledge Sharing) for all their hard work over the past three years. CUBO as an organisation has changed for the better, and the initiatives these three executive members have implemented have made a significant contribution to this. I am delighted to welcome Richard, Jon and Pat onto the team and it is great to see that the new management arrangements for CUBO which we established three years ago actually working. The changes to the executive membership will bring in new ideas and energy into the organisation and I look forward to working with them.

My time as Chair of CUBO is now entering its final phase and at the last executive meeting I am delighted to confirm that Paddy Jackman was elected as the next Chair for the organisation. Paddy will take up the post at the beginning of our conference in Exeter next year. I know you will all join me in congratulating Paddy on this appointment and wishing him every success in the role over his three years in office. Catherine Anderson, Executive Secretary to CUBO has agreed to stay on for a further year to support the transition between myself and Paddy. This will ensure that in future the Chair and Secretary posts do not change in the same calendar year.
